Getting Started
What Copy:Paste+ does
Copy:Paste+ makes copy and paste behave. Text you paste arrives clean, every copy shows you what it holds before you paste it, and the details you shouldn't be pasting get flagged first.
Paste without dragging colors in
Copy from anything in dark mode (an AI assistant, a docs site, a chat) and the colors come with it: pale text and dark blocks that only show up when someone reads your email or ticket on white. Copy:Paste+ drops pasted colors and backgrounds on the way in, in rich-text editors on any site and in any frame. Bold, italics, headings, lists and links all come through. See Paste without the colors.
See every copy
- The copies window (the default): a small window of its own, outside your tabs, with up to nine recent copies from every tab plus your pins. See Use the copies window.
- Copy cards: with the window off, each copy opens a card on the page showing what you copied and the ways to paste it. See Use copy cards on the page.
- Hotkeys: Alt+1 to Alt+9 paste any recent copy, Alt+Shift+number as plain text. See Paste with hotkeys.
Catch mistakes before you paste
A copy that starts or ends with stray spaces, tabs or line breaks says so, with a Trim button. Card numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers, names and postal addresses, IP addresses and access keys are masked on the card, with a warning naming what was found and a Mask button. See Trim stray spaces and mask sensitive details.
Screen grabs and the right-click menu
From the toolbar panel or a keyboard shortcut: what's visible, an area you drag, a whole screen or window, or the entire page from top to bottom. The right-click menu pastes recent copies into a text box, copies selected text as plain text, and copies an image as a card. See Take a screen grab and Use the right-click menu.
Private by design
Copy:Paste+ never reads your clipboard. Copies are kept in your browser's memory only, and everything is gone when Chrome closes. Settings are the only thing saved to disk, and nothing is collected or sent anywhere. Private, free, forever.
