Core How-Tos
Use copy cards on the page
With the copies window off, each copy or cut opens a small card on the page showing what you copied, the ways to paste it and the hotkey for each.
Turn the cards on
Clear In a window of their own in the toolbar panel. Show what you copied must be on, as it is from the start.
Paste from a card
Click a way on a card to paste it where your cursor is; the card never takes the page's focus, so the caret stays where it was. Copy a few things and the cards stack up, numbered newest first, so you can paste any of them with Alt+its number. Click anywhere else on a card to dismiss it and click what's underneath. Esc closes the newest card.
Go back to where you copied it
Every card names the page it came from, with its title and site. Go to tab switches to the tab still showing that page; New tab opens the page again beside the one you're on. Switch tabs and your newest copy, made in another tab in the last two minutes, comes along as an "other tab" card.
Pin a card
Pin a card to keep a copy you'll use again. It stops counting down and shows in every tab until you unpin it or close Chrome. You can pin up to six at a time, and pinned cards don't count toward how many show at once.
The cards show what you copy on screen. If you share your screen or copy passwords and keys, you may want them off: clear Show what you copied.
Choose how they behave
How many show at once, where they sit and how long they stay are all in Settings → Copying. See Set where cards show and when they close.
