Troubleshoot common issues

Most hiccups come down to a page that needs a refresh or a large board still loading — here's how to fix the common ones.

Subtasks aren't showing

If subtasks don't appear under your parent cards, try these in order:

  1. Check this board isn't switched off. If it's missing on one board but fine elsewhere, that board almost certainly has an override — click the eye button in the board's bottom-left corner to turn it back on, or find it under Settings → Subtasks → Per-board overrides and click Show subtasks. See Turn subtasks off for one board.
  2. Refresh the page so URLflows can re-read the board.
  3. Click the floating "Refresh Subtasks" button to re-pull subtasks for the view.
  4. Remember each card starts collapsed — look for the "N subtasks" chip and click it. If a card has no chip, that parent genuinely has no subtasks.
  5. Confirm the extension is enabled in your browser's extensions list.
  6. Make sure you're on a supported Jira view — URLflows runs on *.atlassian.net pages only.

I can't find the eye button

It can be hidden, or simply in a different corner. Both live under Settings → Subtasks: Floating button corner moves the eye and Refresh Subtasks buttons to any of the four corners, and a checkbox hides the eye button altogether. Your overrides still apply either way — manage them from the settings page.

My access section says it can't list admins

That's Jira's rule rather than a fault. A project's role membership is readable only by someone who can already administer that project, so if you're not an admin the extension can't see the admin list — it says so plainly and names the project lead to ask instead. See See your access in a project.

The backlog tooltip won't appear

On the backlog, the subtask preview pops when you hover the issue key. If nothing shows, hover directly on the issue key rather than another part of the row. If it still doesn't appear, refresh the backlog and try again.

Large boards feel incomplete

Big boards load progressively. If some cards are missing their subtasks, scroll down to bring more cards into view and then click "Refresh Subtasks" to load more. Repeat as you work down a long board.
