Turn subtasks off for one board
Subtasks under every card are exactly what you want on your team's board, and exactly what you don't want on the 400-card program board. You don't have to choose globally — switch them off for one board and leave the rest alone.
The eye button
On any board, look for the small eye button in the bottom-left corner. Click it and subtasks switch off for that board only — its backlog switches with it. Click it again to bring them back.
Everywhere else carries on as normal. This is the fastest way to quiet a board without opening settings at all.
Managing your overrides
Every board you've turned off is listed under Settings → Subtasks → Per-board overrides, each with a Show subtasks button to undo it. It's worth a look occasionally — it's the one place to see which boards you've quieted and why one of them isn't showing subtasks.
Moving the floating buttons
Floating button corner on the same settings page moves the eye button — and the Refresh Subtasks button — to any of the four corners of the board, for when the default corner clashes with something in your Jira.
There's also a checkbox to hide the eye button altogether, if you'd rather boards were only ever managed from the settings page. Your existing overrides stay in force; you just manage them from settings instead.
Turning subtasks off everywhere
If you want subtasks off across all boards rather than one, use Subtask Visibility under Settings → Subtasks. The rest of the extension — the notes pad, the Page Guide, celebrations — carries on regardless.
