See your access in a project

Turn it on

Switch on Show your access under Settings → Your access. It appears as a third section on the pad, below the Page Guide and built to the same shape — on any Jira page that belongs to a project.

The one-line answer

A summary line is on show whenever the pad is open, along the lines of:

“You hold 8 of 11 permissions here — not Delete Issues, Manage Sprints, and 1 more. Ask Priya Raman if you need more.”

That's usually the whole answer, without clicking anything: what you can do, what you can't, and who to ask about it.

Unfolding More information opens the rest into the same inset block the Page Guide's explainer uses:

• The full permission list for that project — Browse Projects, Create Issues, Transition Issues, Manage Sprints, Administer Projects and the rest — each ticked or crossed. They're labelled with Jira's own names, so they match what an admin sees in the permission scheme and you can quote them in a request.
• The project lead, so there's always a named person to ask.
• The groups you're in.

The one thing Jira won't tell you

A project's admin list is readable only by someone who can already administer that project — that's Jira's rule, not a limitation of the extension. If you're an admin, the admins are listed. If you aren't, the section says so plainly and points you at the project lead instead.

Where the information comes from

Everything is read as you, from your own site's REST API, using only the access you already have — the extension can't see anything you couldn't see yourself, and it never elevates or borrows anyone else's permissions. Results are cached for ten minutes per project to keep the calls light.
