Leave blanks to fill in

Most prompts you reuse change a little each time: the topic, the audience, the code. Mark those parts as blanks and Noggin asks for them before it copies or inserts the prompt.

Write a blank

  • {{topic}}: a blank called topic.
  • {{tone|friendly}}: a blank with a default. Leave it as it is or change it.

Use the same name twice and you fill it in once. In the item's editor, each blank also gets an optional hint that shows under it when you're asked.

Fill them in

  1. Pick the item in the toolbar panel, the side panel, its own window or the Vault tab on an AI site.
  2. A short form asks for each blank, with defaults already filled in.
  3. Press Insert to put the finished text in the page's text box, or Copy to put it on the clipboard.

Slack messages too

Slack message templates use the same blanks, so a weekly update can ask for this week's numbers before it's inserted. See Copy for Slack and Slack templates.
