Privacy & permissions

Chromie Homie by URLflows has no accounts, analytics or tracking, no access to any website, and makes no requests of its own. It reads only the pages and files you give it, and everything stays in your browser.

What stays on your computer

Your extensions, their listings, the analytics from the CSV files you import, public users and ratings, reviews and support questions (with the names their authors show publicly), ideas, promotion plans, the timeline, tags and your settings live in Chrome's extension storage on this computer. The text you paste is read on your computer and only the parts it needs are kept. None of it is synced between devices or sent to us. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it, and Settings → Resets → Reset all settings deletes it any time.

Links and images

The links to your Developer Dashboard and store pages are built on your computer; nothing is fetched until you click one, and then it opens in a new tab like any link. Listing images show from Google's image servers, as they do on the store.

Chrome's built-in model

The drafting, sorting and translating use Chrome's built-in models, which run on your computer. The text is given to them there and nothing is sent to a server. See Use the on-device AI.

Permissions

  • storage: to keep your extensions, their data and your settings.
  • unlimitedStorage: analytics for many extensions over years can pass the default storage limit, and an import would then fail part way.
  • sidePanel: to open the toolbar panel in Chrome's side panel when you choose.
  • management (optional): asked for only when you turn on Installed versions, to show the versions of your extensions installed in this browser and the extension switches. It changes nothing unless you click a switch, and turning the setting off gives the permission back.

It asks for no access to websites and runs nothing on the pages you visit, so Chrome shows no warning about reading your data when you add it.

If you remove the extension

Chromie Homie opens nothing when you remove it: no feedback form, and nothing is sent anywhere. Removing it deletes everything it kept, so make a backup first if you might want it back.
