Core How-Tos
Play a stream
Each stream in the toolbar panel has two buttons: Play, which plays it right there, and the window button, which pops it out into a player of its own.
Play in the panel
Press Play beside an audio stream and it plays in the toolbar panel with no window open. Close the panel and it keeps playing. Open the panel again to pause, mute, pop it out or stop it under Now playing.
Video and page streams can't play in the panel, so their Play button opens a mini player instead.
Pop out into a mini player
Press the window button beside a stream to open it in a compact player window with no address bar or tabs. It opens where you last left a player, or at first in the bottom-right corner of the window you're in, and reopens at the size you left it.
- Audio and video files and live streams play in Playfull's own player. Video gets picture in picture.
- Any other address opens as the page itself in the player window.
- If the browser can't play a file in the player, Playfull opens the address in a tab instead.
Prefer a normal tab? Change Pop out streams into in Settings → Mini Player. See Set up the mini player.
One at a time
Several players can be open at once, but only one plays: starting a stream pauses every other Playfull player that's playing. Playing a stream that's already open brings its player to the front.
Pausing a live stream
Chrome closes the panel's player after about 30 seconds of silence. That's expected: press Play again and a live stream simply restarts at the live edge.
