Back up, restore and reset
Backup & restore puts your whole vault and every setting in one file, to restore later or in another browser. Resets put one area back to its defaults, or everything at once.
Back up
Open Settings → Backup & restore and press Export backup (.json). The file holds every item and emoji, their history, your platforms, sites and settings.
Restore
On the same page, press Import backup… and choose the file. Use it to move to a new computer or another Chromium browser.
Reset one area
Settings → Resets → Reset a single area restores just that area and touches nothing else:
- Vault: deletes every item and emoji, with their history.
- Examples: deletes the example items (tagged
#example). - Rewrite me: forgets your writing style.
- Usage history: forgets where and how often each item was used; the items stay.
- Platforms & products: removes the ones you added.
- On AI sites, Sites and Appearance: back to their defaults.
Reset everything
Reset all settings returns the extension to a fresh install. It can't be undone, so export a backup first if you want one. The keyboard shortcut is held by Chrome, not the extension; Open shortcuts takes you to Chrome's page to change or clear it.
