Retiring soon URLflows for Individuals is retiring soon. Everything we build now goes into the greatly improved URLflows for Teams — all of this, plus bookmarks shared across your devices and your teammates. Do move over when you can 🙂

Back up & restore your data

Your flows belong to you. URLflows for Individuals makes it easy to export them, restore them, or move them between machines.

Export a JSON backup

  1. Open Settings → Data Management.
  2. Click Export to download a timestamped JSON file of all your sections, bookmarks, and settings.
  3. Store it wherever you keep backups — a cloud drive, a USB stick, or your dotfiles repo.

Restore from JSON

  1. Open Settings → Data Management.
  2. Click Import and pick a previously exported JSON file.
  3. Confirm the import. Your existing data is replaced with the backup.

Full folder backup

For the most complete backup, export the entire extension as a loadable unpacked folder. Use this when you want a pristine copy of the extension state, not just its data.

Move to a new computer

  1. Export a JSON backup on your old machine.
  2. Install URLflows for Individuals on the new machine (see Install URLflows for Individuals).
  3. On first launch, choose Restore from backup and select the file.

If you move between machines often, exporting each time gets old fast — and with URLflows for Individuals retiring soon, a backup is worth having anyway. URLflows for Teams, where all of our work now goes, keeps the same bookmarks on every device you use with no export step, and it works just as well for a team of one. This is exactly the problem it was built to remove, so do move over when you can 🙂

Reset everything

From Data Management you can also reset settings to defaults or delete all URLflows data. Both actions are irreversible — export a backup first.
