Troubleshoot common issues
Most issues come down to the extension being paused, the close delay, or the browser needing a moment after install. Here's how to sort them out.
The leftover tab isn't closing
- Check it's switched on. Open the popup and make sure the on/off toggle is enabled — see Pause it & view your stats.
- Confirm it's a recognised link. URLflows acts on Zoom launch pages on
zoom.usandzoomgov.com. A link on another host won't trigger it. - Give it a moment after install. Right after installing, open a fresh Zoom link rather than relying on a tab that was already open.
- Reload the extension. Visit
chrome://extensions, find URLflows for Zoom, and toggle it off and on (or use its reload button).
The tab closes too soon (before Zoom opens)
Increase the close delay so Zoom has more time to launch. Open the popup and raise the delay toward 5–10 seconds — see Set the close delay.
I want to use "Join from your browser"
That link lives on the launch page that URLflows closes. Either raise the close delay to give yourself time to click it, or pause the extension for that meeting from the popup.
Focus isn't returning to my previous tab
- Focus restore runs after the leftover tab is closed, so first confirm the tab is actually closing (above).
- If the original tab was closed or moved to another window in the meantime, there may be nothing to return to.
