Use the Scratch Pad

A meeting code, a half-written reply, the ticket number you'll need in ten minutes. The Scratch Pad is one running note that's reachable from wherever you happen to be — and it's the same note every time.

One note, every surface

URLflows for Teams shows your bookmarks on three surfaces — the docked bar injected on every page, the side panel, and the New Tab page. The Scratch Pad sits under the action row on all three, and they all show the same note.

Type into it on the bar while you're reading an article, and the text is already there when you open a new tab. Edits sync live: if you have the side panel open alongside a page with the bar, both update as you type in either one.

Open it and start typing

  1. Find the Scratch Pad control in the action row of whichever surface you're on — the bar, the side panel, or the New Tab page.
  2. Click it to expand the editor.
  3. Type. There's no Save button — the note is written as you go.

Drag the editor's corner to resize it. Each surface remembers its own size, so a roomy pad on the New Tab page won't make the one on the bar take over the page you're reading.

Where it sits

The pad docks under the action row, and you can choose where along that row it sits: Left, Centered (the default), or Right.

This is set per surface, under each one's own settings page — Settings → Top bar, Settings → Side panel, and Settings → New Tab each have their own Scratch Pad position control.

Staying open

The side panel and the New Tab page remember whether you left the pad open and reopen it that way. The bar is deliberately different: because it's injected fresh into every page you load, it never auto-opens the pad — otherwise it would pop up on every site you visit.

Your notes are yours

The Scratch Pad is stored locally in your browser, alongside your other URLflows settings. It isn't written to your spreadsheet, isn't shared with your team, and never leaves your machine.

It is included when you export a backup, so moving to a new machine brings your note along with your settings and bookmarks.
