Rewrite text in your own voice

Tell Noggin how you write, once. Then rewrite anything in your own voice with the AI built into Chrome, which runs on your computer: what you rewrite never leaves it.

Set it up

  1. Open Settings → Rewrite me.
  2. Under On-device AI, check that Chrome's built-in model (Gemini Nano) is ready. If it isn't, press Download the model. Chrome downloads it once; it needs Chrome on a desktop computer with enough free space and memory.
  3. Under About you, describe who you are and who you write to, and pick the Tone words that sound like you, a Length, your Habits (Always and Never), the words and phrases you use and your sign-off.
  4. Under Samples of your writing, paste a message, an email and something longer that you wrote and liked. A few sentences each is plenty, and they teach it the most.
  5. Use Try it to check the result.

Rewrite something

  • In the toolbar panel: open the Rewrite me tab, paste text or press Use the page's selected text, choose how (Like me, Shorter, Friendlier, More formal, Clearer, Fix only or For Slack) and press Rewrite. Then Put it on the page, Copy it, or try Again.
  • With a right-click: select text anywhere, right-click and choose Rewrite like me.

Small on-device models don't remember you, so your style goes along with every rewrite.

No built-in AI?

Your style still works anywhere. Under Use your style anywhere, press Copy my style as instructions and paste them at the start of a chat with ChatGPT, Claude or a local model such as Ollama or LM Studio, or into its custom instructions. Save it to the vault keeps them as an instructions item.
