A countdown you can read from across the room

The next event on your Google Calendar gets a big timer, with its title, its time and a line such as Starts in 26 minutes. A progress bar fills as it gets closer.

Underneath, Also coming up shows smaller timers for the events after it — up to five more, or none if you only want the next one.

It warns you as the time gets close

Three alerts — Get ready, Soon and Starting — switch the timer's colour at 30, 10 and 1 minute before the event. Each can play a sound and flash the page, and you choose the minutes, colours and sounds. See Set up alerts, colours and sounds.

One click to join

When an event has a Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Webex link in its location or description, a Join meeting button appears on the timer. The smaller timers get a Join button too.

Your day at a glance

Pick a calendar for the Focus day agenda and today's events appear beside the timer as a timeline, with a line at the current time and the past dimmed. It works especially well with a time-blocking calendar.

When nothing is coming up

With a clear calendar, Next Up suggests ways to use the time — focus on what matters most, go heads-down, take a break, go for a walk or hit the gym.

One file, nothing to install

Next Up is a single HTML file. Download it, open it in Chrome, and it runs on your own computer — no extension, no app and no account to create. It connects to your calendar through a small read-only script in your own Google account, so your events go straight from Google to your browser. Private, free, forever.
