Install the Next Up extension

Next Up by URLflows installs from the Chrome Web Store in a few seconds. Its settings page opens at Getting Started, which walks you through connecting your Google Calendar.

Add it to your browser

  1. Open the Next Up by URLflows listing on the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click Add to Chrome (the label adapts to your browser: "Add to Edge", "Add to Brave" and so on), then Add extension.
  3. The settings page opens at Getting Started.

Chrome asks you to approve two things: Read and change your data on script.google.com and script.googleusercontent.com, which is how Next Up reaches the script in your own Google account, and Display notifications, for the alerts you turn on. It has no access to the pages you visit. See Privacy and your calendar data.

Connect your calendar

  1. On Getting Started, click Connect Google Calendar.
  2. Follow the three short steps: make your calendar script in your own Google account, paste in its address and your key, and tick the calendars to watch.

It takes about five minutes, once. Want to look around first? Click Try it with sample events.

Keep it beside your work

Click the puzzle-piece Extensions icon at the top right of the browser and press the pin beside Next Up by URLflows. The time left then shows on the toolbar icon.

Click the icon to open Next Up. It can open in Chrome's side panel, under the icon or in its own window; Toolbar icon opens in its settings chooses which. Press Ctrl+Shift+J (Command+Shift+J on a Mac) anywhere in Chrome to join your next meeting.

Already using the downloaded file?

It keeps working. The extension has its own settings, so you connect it once, separately. To keep using a file instead of the extension, see Download and open Next Up.

Which browsers work

Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc, Vivaldi and other Chromium-based browsers all install from the same Chrome Web Store listing. There's no Firefox or Safari version. Next Up is private, free, forever: no account to create, no ads, nothing to pay.
