Search & run commands

The box at the top of the sidebar does two jobs. Type normally and it filters every link you have. Type > first and it turns into a command bar — every action in the extension, reachable without leaving the keyboard.

Filter your links

Start typing and the sidebar narrows to matching links as you go. There's no Enter to press and no results page to wait for — the list filters live across all your sections.

Two filter shortcuts are built in for when you know the shape of what you're after rather than its name:

  • type:docs — show only documents.
  • type:other — show everything that isn't a document.

Clear the box to bring the full list back.

Open the command bar

Type > as the first character and the list becomes a menu of commands. Keep typing to narrow it, use the arrow keys to move through the matches, and press Enter to run the highlighted one.

It's the fastest route to anything you'd otherwise hunt for in the toolbar.

What you can run

  • Add Section — start a new group of links.
  • Save Tabs — turn everything open in the window into a new section.
  • Refocus Tabs — each of your presets appears as its own command.
  • Toggle Collapse / Expand All — fold every section at once.
  • Toggle Group by Domain — regroup links by the site they point at.
  • Toggle Filter Bar — show or hide the filter controls.
  • Filter: Docs / Other / All — the same filters as above, without typing the syntax.
  • Set all sections: List / Pills / Cards / Flow — apply one layout everywhere in a single step.
  • Switch Theme — flip to your other theme.
  • Pop Out Window — open the sidebar as its own window.
  • Toggle Temp Notes — show or hide the scratch pad.
  • Backup / Restore / Push to Mobile — your data actions.
  • Open Settings — jump straight to the options page.

Why it's worth the habit

The layout commands are the ones that repay learning first: Set all sections: Cards restyles the whole sidebar in one keystroke sequence, which is otherwise a per-section change. Save Tabs and Refocus Tabs are close behind — both are things you tend to want in the middle of doing something else, which is exactly when reaching for the mouse costs you the thread.
